Raytheon has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Quality Inspector position (On-Site) at our Richardson, TX location. The effective candidate will work in PRISM SAP planning system, blueprints, quality control specifications, oral and written instructions. This lead position for the inspection team, requires daily priority planning to Operational requirements, problem resolution, continuous improvement project identification and implementation. In addition, the staff tech lead will be involved in employee performance and development.

What you will do, but not limited to the following:

  • Inspect for final acceptance, all types of commodities: Optical, Mechanical and Electronic Hardware to determine conformance to contractual/drawing requirements regardless if it is original build, or has been reworked.

  • Inspect types Optical, Mechanical and Electronic Hardware referencing quality control standards, workmanship, and drawing specifications; by checking such items as parts, wires, and finish/coatings, using appropriate inspection devices.

  • Maintain Quality records as required.

  • Attend and communicate quality status as requested by Site Leadership

  • Perform supplementary related duties as assigned or required by the Site Quality Manager.

    Qualifications you must have:

  • Minimum (8) years of experience as a quality inspector or related manufacturing operations comparable experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 years of experience OR associate’s degree and 6 years of relevant work experience

  • Experience using calibrated inspection measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, microscope, and rulers

  • Experience with drawing and drawing/print reading

  • Previous experience working in cross functional teams

  • Experienced inspecting to Optical Specifications (507907, PRF-O-13830, ANSI)

  • Experience in performing and reviewing First Article Inspections and reports per AS 9102.

  • · The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications we prefer:

  • Experience in conducting Audits per a defined Audit plan and Quality Management System

  • Computer skills within the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to work with a high degree of confidence and efficiency

  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, supervisors, and peers to resolve issues

  • Display a strong personal commitment to successfully complete all tasks and projects

  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative (self-starter).

The salary range for this role is 48,000 USD - 116,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
