SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will join a small team of EDA/PDK engineers enabling software tools used in the design flow for RF-ICs, modules, and packages. The position will involve the development and maintenance of custom utilities, qualityassurance and construction of Process Design Kits (PDKs) and Assembly Design Kits (ADKs), and providing design verification services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain PDKs/ADKs and support infrastructure for use with Keysights AdvancedDesign System (ADS), Cadence's Virtuoso and MicroWave Office (MWO) for the design of custom Radio Frequency and mixed signal Integrated Circuits (RFICs), and custom laminates/modules/packages.

  • Developing and supporting code to perform physical verification checking (DRC and LVS).

  • Implementing, testing, and deploying scripts and other design automation and tool integrations.

  • Supporting internal and external customers.

  • Support and enhance the engineering design flow from schematic design entry and simulation to layout, Electromagnetic simulation, and design verification.

  • Provide training, assistance and direct interface with external and internal customer designers/users of the EDA infrastructure (PDK/ADK/DRC/LVS) working in a heterogeneous environment (Windows and Linux).

  • Building out a robust quality assurance (QA) infrastructure to support testing of EDA tools and applications.

  • Building and maintaining portions of the EDA intranet site(s) for our internal products.

  • Develop scripts to automate design engineering problems.

  • Build and maintain SharePoint sites for the EDA team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Electrical Engineeringrequired. MS and/or up to a year of relevant internship/work-experience strongly preferred

  • EE coursework or work experience in analog circuits, solid state, RF, and/or semiconductor manufacturing.

  • CS coursework or work experience in object-oriented (OO) design, data structures, analysis of algorithms, databases, and networking.

  • Proficiency in writing Linux shell scripts, VB, C/C++, PERL, Python, and general programming is required.

  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles: agile methodology; requirements analysis; testing and test case generation; verification and validation; and documentation.

  • Comfortable and proficient in both Windows and Linux environments.

  • Experience with modern development tools: git, IDEs (PyCharm, Visual Studio, and/or S Code)

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging mindset.

This position is based in Richardson, Texas.
