JOB SUMMARY

Reports to: Teacher and Principal

Summary: Work with the supervisors to perform necessary activities to assist students in reaching their goals

RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under the supervision and with instruction of the teacher, assist in individual and small and large group instruction.

Supervise students in the lunchroom, restrooms, halls, and in those areas as requested.

Monitor classes during teacher absences of short duration.

Operate audio-visual equipment.

Assist in preparation of instructional materials.

Assist in location of resource materials.

Perform clerical tasks such as making telephone calls, filing and maintaining student records.

Assist in field trips.

Score tests.

Be patient with students; utilizing firmness, friendliness, and fairness.

Maintain confidentiality.

Know emergency procedures for the building and classrooms within which you work.

Report incidents of unusual nature to teachers and principal.

Communicate and cooperate with staff members.

Participate in professional training.

Follow district policies.
