Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience in a consulting role leading or supporting enterprise customers with cloud architecture development, hardening, or threat detection.

• Experience with any one of the cloud platforms (e.g., GCP) including their security features, services, and architecture.

• Top Secret US Government Security clearance.

Preferred qualifications:

• Certification in Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer (PCSE).

• Certification in Security+, CISSP, or similar technical security.

• Experience in any one scripting language: Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Bash, or Terraform.

• Understanding of the compliance frameworks relevant to the public sector such as NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, FISMA, DoD Risk Management Framework, StateRAMP, CJIS, and similar public sector compliance standards.

As a Security Consultant, you will be a trusted advisor to public sector organizations, working closely with them to understand their unique security challenges and objectives. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$154,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Collaborate with customers to develop and harden cloud architectures that align with Google’s best practices and meet their specific security requirements.

• Work with customers to fortify their cloud architectures against potential threats and disruptions, ensuring continuity and reliability.

• Provide expert guidance and support to customers during security incidents, helping them contain and mitigate threats effectively.

• Perform security and compliance assessments of customers environments, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending remediation strategies.

• Partner with Google's internal Security teams and external partners to leverage their expertise and insights, ensuring a coordinated and effective approach.
