BAE Systems Lead Mission & IT Architect Reston, Virginia

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled computer scientist for a Lead Mission & IT Architect position supporting our government customer in Reston, VA, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Bethesda, MD, and Patrick Space Force Base, FL. They will lead and manage a workforce supporting OSINT Mission and IT Architecture tasks including:

  • Support to IT systems, commercial capabilities, data science initiatives, trade studies, innovation, and prototyping initiatives.

  • Coordinate, gather, collect IT requirements, assess costs, capabilities and dependencies, feasibility of solutions, Return on Investment (ROI), and provide briefings to the Government with recommendations.

  • Develop project management plans for solutions to achieve outcomes.

  • Support project lifecycles, to include agile development management, and sprint activity spirals led by experienced Scrum Masters.

  • Support projects to completion, to include solution fielding. Develop SOPs and conduct administrative oversight.

  • Provide administrative oversight of MA solutions and capabilities. Coordinate account requirements, monitor and track training, user agreements, usage metrics. Conduct auditing to ensure compliance. Support investigations and misuse response.

  • Review and document the mission/IT systems, platforms, and workflows DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF).

  • Develop artifacts, identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks.

  • Propose architecture enhancements to achieve efficiency, security, and scalability.

  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance, Systems Administrations, monitoring system performance, conducting troubleshooting, applying patches and updates, and ensure compliance.

  • Support, develop and maintain DODAF architectures and diagrams, flow charts, system components, data flows, and integration. Capture As-Is and To Be architecture diagrams, develop technical reports for improvements, and conduct monthly technical status reporting.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Education requirement: BS Computer Science/IT; CISS Cert desired

  • Experience: 12 yrs and Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) Integration experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
