Google Lead Customer Engineer, Generative AI, Public Sector in Reston, Virginia

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10 years of experience as a technical consultant, technical pre-sales engineer, enterprise architect, or in a customer-facing role.

  • Experience with building AI and machine learning solutions leveraging LLMs, Open Source, Big Data, AI specialized infrastructure, Machine Learning Operations frameworks.

  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or other technical field.

  • 5 years of experience serving in the capacity of a Solution Architect in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.

  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.

  • Ability to build influential relationships and work in a cross-functional or matrixed environment.

You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

The GPS Generative AI Customer Engineering Lead will play a pivotal role in the development of Generative AI business in the Google Public Sector. You will be responsible for leading the community of practice for the Generative AI platform within the GPS Customer Engineering Organization, fostering knowledge sharing and technical excellence. Additionally, the lead will regularly engage with field teams to identify emerging market trends and develop innovative solutions, while collaborating closely with broader GPS teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with overall business objectives. You will travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $181,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Partner with Product Engineering and Technical Sales teams as an Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) subject matter expert to bring Google Cloud AI products to customers.

  • Empower customers and partners to harness Google AI by explaining technical features, designing architectures, building AI applications, and resolving roadblocks.

  • Identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.

  • Leverage AI expertise to foster strong technical relationships with Google's customers, including delivering briefings, creating demos, conducting proof-of-concept work, and collaborating with product management to prioritize solutions driving Google Cloud adoption; recommend optimal integration strategies, architectures, platforms, and infrastructure for successful implementation on Google Cloud.

  • Lead meetings with field teams to identify emerging market trends and develop innovative solutions, while collaborating closely with broader GPS teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
