Google Customer Engineer, National Security, Public Sector in Reston, Virginia

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.

  • Experience delivering technical presentations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Active US Government security clearance.

  • Experience working with Public Sector clients and stakeholders in Federal agencies.

  • Experience with Linux, software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, and virtual private networks/application to PaaS and IaaS technologies.

  • Experience with containers and associated technologies including Kubernetes, Istio, Serverless, and Microservices.

  • Ability to learn and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Google Cloud/IT technology space.

Once educational institutions, government agencies, and other businesses sign on to use Google Cloud products, you come in to facilitate making their work more productive, mobile, and collaborative. You listen and deliver what is most helpful for the customer. You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

In this role, you will partner with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$180,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Build partner specific go-to-market solutions to reduce business cycles and drive partner business as measured through pipeline and business growth.

  • Own the technical relationship with partners, support partners drive toward customer acceptance of the technical proposal, and work with partners during the migration phase to assure they have all the tools necessary to deliver a successful deployment.

  • Build trusted advisory relationships and make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement solutions and providing advice to customers.

  • Lead technical projects, technology advocacy, support bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
