Summary

This role is responsible for the management of Production and Materials Planning, Inventory Control and Planning, Sales and Operations Planning, Warehouse Operations and Logistics (inbound and outbound) for Curia’s API Business Unit. This role reports directly to the site General Manager with a dotted line to the Global VP of Supply Chain and will be located at the Rensselaer, New York facility. This position will also be a member of the Rensselaer Leadership Team.

This position will liaise with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Project Management and Manufacturing Sciences and Technology. Director, Supply Chain must be able to negotiate and implement lean processes while maintaining relationships with customers in other functional groups. Must work proactively to optimize processes by developing creative solutions; must have demonstrated ability to lead through influence.

In collaboration with site teams, develop processes and Key Performance Indicating metrics, utilizing the ERP system to provide timely visibility and tracking of materials and finished goods status across the supply chain.

Responsible for development and implementation of a Master Production, Materials and Capacity Planning and Scheduling organizations to support existing manufacturing facilities transferring best practices to other Curia locations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the work of the Master Scheduler and Warehouse Manager, ensuring that Provides expertise and assists functional leads in identifying risks and evaluating capacities required to support production, including utility, storage and other capacities.

  • Develop and Implement best practice KPI metrics and dashboard(s) to measure site execution, customer service and performance of Supply Chain processes.

  • Embraces continuous improvement in all activities and helps others do the same. Assists in establishing and refining metrics

  • Develops metrics pertaining to Production and Materials Planning, Inventory Control and Planning, Sales and Operations Planning, Warehouse Operations and Logistics processes.

  • Ensures the management of the introduction and obsolescence of materials throughout product life cycle. Positively impacts cash flow and cost of goods by maintaining a high level of costing accuracy, supporting the order execution process and aggressively managing inventories.

  • Responsible for determination of constraints through debottlenecking analysis, soliciting input from appropriate members of the local and corporate teams

  • Continual communication with supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects. Expedites operations, including all functional groups, to prevent delay of schedules. Alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

  • Coordinates cross-functional demand planning team and drives development of consensus demand plan by facilitating a collaborative demand planning process with stakeholder functions.

  • Utilizes a collaborative and consensus approach to ensure customer needs are well-represented and met.

  • Performs other job duties as required.

Position Requirements

  • 5-10 years’ experience

  • Degree required: Bachelors, Masters or MBA focused in Supply Chain, business management, finance

  • Must be organized, possess time management skills, have the ability to deal with ambiguity and be able to manage changing priorities. Leads, motivates, and develops direct reports and peers.

  • Possesses excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills. Demonstrated ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisions.

  • Ability to perform work under general direction

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge/experience with Oracle ERP system or comparable ERP systems.

  • Previous process manufacturing and planning experience.

  • Pharmaceutical or other regulated environment

  • APICS certification

Pay Range: $143,000 - $170,000
