SUMMARY:

The Research Program Specialist within the Clinical Research Department is responsible for daily operations and project management that support the expansion of clinical research in northern Nevada. Under the direction of the Director for Clinical Research at Renown Health, the Research Program Development Specialist serves as support for research business development, community outreach, and research process improvement. The Research Program Development Specialist is responsible for:

Augmenting clinical research awareness and engagement for internal and external stakeholders across the Renown Health - UNR Med affiliation through strategic communication and outreach.

Supporting the Director for Clinical Research with relationship development within the Renown Health system, external partners, community members, donors, and affiliate University of Nevada, Reno and University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine partners.

Providing program support and evaluation for the quality and compliance initiatives of the Human Research Protection Program at Renown Health

Facilitating programmatic business development in relation to the research strategic plan alongside the Director for Clinical Research

Initiate internal research process and policy/SOP improvement to improve operations, services, and participant recruitment. This position is responsible to facilitate processes, assist, coordinate and bring projects to completion on time, on budget, and with completion of goals for the Clinical Research Department.

MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education:Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.Masters degree in healthcare, Business or related field preferred with one year of related professional work experience.Bachelors degree in healthcare, Business or related field acceptable with three years of related professional work experience. Experience:Minimum of 2 years' experience in clinical care and/or clinical research required. Certification:PMP or equivalent preferred. Computer/Typing:Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

The Research Program Specialist is expected to work on multiple programs with high quality results and adherence to deadlines, prioritizing conflicting needs expeditiously and proactively. The incumbent is expected to understand the business drivers and operations of the organization, identify how the programs align to the strategic plan, and regularly report on project progress to leadership.

This position is responsible for navigating organizational culture, politics, and structure to successfully implement programs. The incumbent works directly with research operational leaders to evaluate needs and determine methods for accomplishing research department goals through efficient use of resources, other project team members, and their individual skills.

The position serves as a quality review point to ensure that all project steps have been completed and documented using standard project management tools and methodologies. This position develops and implements tools and techniques to effectively measure the success of a program or project.

This position is responsible for building a strong network of collaborators throughout the community and expansi n of research funding sources. The Research Program Specialist will be public facing amongst the broader community, emphasizing outreach and engagement in support of expanding the research footprint in northern Nevada. This position is expected to create professional presentations and reports, and will be expected to establish goals, metrics, and timelines.
