SAIC Software Engineer in REMOTE WORK, Virginia

Description

SAIC is seeking a Junior Appian Software Developer with solid experience in intelligent Business Process Automation on the Appian Platform. As a Junior Appian Developer, you'll contribute to the creation and enhancement of our Appian applications, which play a pivotal role in optimizing business processes across our organization and SAIC customers. You will be working under the guidance of senior developers and your role will be crucial in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business processes that can be automated, streamline workflows, and enhance productivity.

This position can be worked remotely from anywhere within the United States .

Duties:

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of BPM solutions using the Appian platform.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Develop and maintain Appian processes, forms, rules, data types, and reports.

  • Conduct unit testing of developed components and participate in system testing.

  • Document technical solutions within the Appian environment for maintenance and upgrades.

  • Follow best practices in Appian application design and development.

  • Adhere to the project timelines and effectively communicate any risks or delays.

  • Engage in continuous learning and training to understand the latest Appian features and functionalities.

  • Design technical solutions to automate business processes and build automations using the Appian Platform.

  • Develop optimized strategies for automating business processes using the Appian Platform

  • Have experience integrating Appian platform flows with a variety of data sources and leveraging connectors and APIs.

  • Have knowledge of Appian administration, including environment management and security configuration

  • Create and execute tests to evaluate functional and non-functional performance of solutions.

  • Document and update solution designs throughout the automation life cycle.

  • Perform detailed estimations for the time and effort to complete aspects of the project. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in the production environment.

  • Collaborate with a business analyst to work directly with clients to define requirements, explore solutions, and assess the technical feasibility of BPM/A for the given problem.

  • Meet with customers to gather additional requirements detail or resolve incidents in production.

  • Adhere to best practices and participate in team meetings to further mature standards and practices of the development team.

  • Provide feedback to other developers by performing code reviews and technical design reviews.

  • Evaluate change requests to determine approach and level of effort and communicate it back to either the project team or customer.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the Innovation Factory Hyper-Automation team, but also independently and generate quality deliverables.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Two (2) years’ experience in Low Code software development (Appian Platform).

  • Registered Appian Certification Associate Developer.

  • Understanding of BPM concepts and principles.

  • Familiarity with the Appian platform.

  • Ability to understand business processes and translate them into technical requirements.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, ever-evolving field.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • One (1) or more years of experience performing Operations & Maintenance of automations

  • One (1) or more years of experience working with clients in the U.S. Government

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience interacting directly with clients at multiple levels

  • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, or SQL.

  • Currently hold a Public Trust clearance.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.

  • Basic understanding of database management and design.

  • Familiarity with web service integration standards such as REST and SOAP.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
