Our Epic Training team is searching for an instructional designer / Trainer with in-depth experience in Epic training and adult education to drive continuous improvement and create engaging blended learning solutions. Applicants should have a passion for implementing creative training solutions while also partnering with application experts and operational stakeholders. Epic Certification required in Optime/Anesthesia.

Our employees work remote but must be residents of Missouri, Oklahoma, Illinois, Indiana, Texas, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina or Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

Facilitates and delivers technical training; assessment, preparation, delivery and evaluation to meet the technical training needs of the organization. Provides ongoing coaching, mentoring and development of the Training Analysts. Leads projects, prioritizes work of the team, and maintains meaningful relationships with business operations, information technology, leadership, system users and vendors.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uses understanding of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in order to competently develop training curriculum and facilitate training delivery. Analyzes workflow, application dependencies, and user competencies through collaboration with operational end-users, subject matter experts (SME), and application analysts to determine learning objectives.

  • Designs and maintains role-based training materials and scenarios to incorporate best practices based on adult learning principles. Translates technical functionality and workflow into easily understood steps. Validates information prior to incorporating into curricula.

  • Reviews data to determine curriculum modifications that ensure training success. Devises modes of assessment to measure the effectiveness of the course. Facilitates technical training while monitoring and adjusting the approach as necessary to ensure maximum transfer and retention of knowledge among a variety of audiences.

  • Contributes in the planning, design, development, build and maintenance of the training environment as it applies to training patient scenarios. Assists in the coordination of training environment testing. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

  • Applies project management principles to support the creation of project tasks. May lead small teams or projects with manageable risk, resource requirements, and complexity.

  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

  • Serves as an IT liaison for basic functionality questions for implementations and upgrades with a range of customers including business operations, system users and vendors. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.

  • Impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies. Able to interact meaningfully with customers, independently, and maintains a positive relationship.

  • Takes ownership of personal growth and stays informed of emerging technologies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent years of experience and education

EXPERIENCE

  • Three years' experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.
