At V2X, we are making a difference by delivering decision support tools critical for the protection of our forces when threatened by both physical and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, or Nuclear (CBRN) threats.

As a Systems Engineer contracted to support the Integrated Early Warning of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Sensors project for the Department of Defense (DoD), you will follow Agile and DevSecOps practices while supporting the planning, execution of end-to-end systems integration, testing, verification, and validation of the systems. We are on the forefront of CBRN defense, and we are looking for talented System Engineers that have applied experience with test metrics, remote system configuration, and cybersecurity standards to join our team. Our Systems Engineers work closely everyday with project managers, subject matter experts, and software engineers to build capabilities that impress our customers. We partner and collaborate with universities to being best minds together. System Engineers will have opportunities to work on projects with highest priority to our business.

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies, to support software development projects and business operations.

• Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and design scalable and reliable systems solutions.

• Conduct regular system health checks and performance tuning activities to optimize resource utilization and improve system reliability.

• Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance standards to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure operational continuity.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to internal teams.

• Capture requirements and develop requirements traceability maxtrixes and test metrics to support model development and testing efforts.

• Research and recommend hardware, applications, operating systems, and system architecture for multiple systems.

• Ability to load and configure operating systems, applications, developled software and apply cyber security measures.

• Ability to support fielding engineers in their planning and set-up of corresponding test events.

• Development of an overall test approach and documentation of test procedures, test plans, and a formal TEMP.

• Support planning and execution of end-to-end systems integration, testing of the system, and final verification and validation of the system.

• Support development of any training materials and delivery of that training prior to system transition to end users.

• Development of any operational documentation as well as a Technical Data Package for delivery to the end users at the completion of each project phase (i.e., yearly).

• Ability to express a deep understanding of the system, components, and requirements.

  Working Environment:

• Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more.

• Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine, and printer.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Clearance Requirement:

Must have or be able to obtain an active U.S. DoD Secret level Security Clearance.

Experience / Skills:

• Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator, preferably in a software development or technology services environment.

• Strong understanding of systems architecture principles and best practices, with hands-on experience designing and implementing complex systems solutions.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong conceptual thinking and innovation skills.

• Experience with multiple operating systems (RHEL, MS Server, CENTOS, MS Windows).

• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, and other Microsoft supported products.

• Experience with virtualization and cloud based support products.

• Experience with DoD Cyber Security Posture preferred (ACAS, CMMC, RMF, STIG).

• Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and public presentation skills.
