Responsibilities
Position Summary: The Senior Network Architect will be responsible for the development and execution of network strategy for a large scale infrastructure that includes over 200 hospitals and 1200 clinics.
This role involves leading network architecture projects, developing strategies to improve network performance, and ensuring the security and scalability of network systems.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large-scale healthcare IT environments and a deep understanding of network technologies. This includes cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and large-scale data center operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Network Design & Architecture: Lead the overall design, development, and implementation of complex network services, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, cloud-based networks and network access control.
Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain a long-term network architecture strategy that supports the organization’s growth and technological advancements.
Security & Compliance: Ensure that network architecture adheres to all security standards, including HIPAA compliance, and work closely with the cybersecurity team to implement robust security protocols.
Performance Optimization: Ensure network performance meets business needs. Identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance network efficiency and reliability.
Project Oversight: Oversee large-scale network projects, from conception through implementation, ensuring that all milestones are met within scope, time, and budget.
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including cloud engineering, datacenter, and software development, to ensure seamless integration and operation of network systems.
Critical Operations: Engage to help resolve escalations on critical complex incidents.
Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring that network products and services meet the organization’s needs and standards.
Innovation: Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in network architecture and healthcare IT, recommending and implementing new solutions where appropriate.
Ideal Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in network architecture and design, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role within a healthcare environment.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.), firewalls, VPNs, and network security.
Proficient in designing and managing cloud-based network solutions (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Understanding of healthcare-specific IT regulations.
Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale projects. Experience leading and developing technical teams.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a focus on innovative solutions and strategic thinking.
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
