Leidos International Mobility Tax Analyst in Remote, United States

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated International Mobility Tax Analyst to join our Global Payroll team, focusing on tax compliance for expatriates who are on US payroll.In this role, you will manage various aspects of the US payroll as it relates to home and host country taxation for expatriates, Tax Equalization (TEQ) administration, and providing tax support for employees on international business travel as well as formal assignments. This role also contributes to a culture of continuous improvement. We are looking for a strong communicator who can improve the tax experience for employees and ensure operational excellence through the support of day-to-day cases and activities.Providing exceptional customer service is key, as you will provide guidance to employees and Business Sector programs regarding tax regulations and ensure a smooth experience in working with our external payroll and tax vendors.

Additionally, you will also assist in the review of policies and procedures related to international mobility, tracking international business travelers, and coordinating & filing for tax-related certifications and documentation.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Administer and manage the tax equalization process, ensuring accurate and timely calculations & pay for expatriate employees.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for tax equalization matters, liaising with internal stakeholders and external tax service vendors as required to ensure compliance with home and host country tax regulations.

  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of tax equalization methodologies to enhance efficiency and compliance.

  • Assist in the preparation of hypothetical tax calculations, tax reconciliations and payroll adjustments for international assignees.

  • Review & implement and/or update existing international mobility policies and procedures to ensure they are compliant with current laws and best practices.

  • Partner with Business Sector programs, Global Payroll & Global Mobility teams to ensure accurate cost projections and accruals are created for tax equalized employees.

  • Provide guidance and training to HR and business leaders on tax equalization principles and compliance requirements.

  • Stay up to date on global tax regulations and assess potential impacts on mobility programs.

  • Provide support in U.S. tax-related matters for international assignees, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.

  • Work closely with other HR and legal teams to ensure alignment of global mobility policies.

  • Ensure timely and accurate filings of required tax documents for U.S. tax compliance.

  • Assist in filing for and managing Certificates of Coverage (COC) for international assignees and business travelers, ensuring that they remain in compliance with Social Security agreements and avoid double taxation.

  • Provide analytical support on business traveler data and assist in reporting for compliance and audit purposes.

  • Collaborate closely with the EMEA mobility team to support the filing of Posted Worker Directive Notifications (PWDN) for U.S. employees traveling to the EU, ensuring compliance with local labor regulations.

  • Assist the EMEA team in collecting, reviewing, and preparing required documentation for PWDN submissions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 8+ years of experience in global mobility, expatriate tax, or tax equalization administration.

  • Strong knowledge of tax equalization concepts, expatriate payroll, and international tax compliance.

  • Experience working with external tax providers and global payroll teams.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and tax reconciliation processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex mobility cases.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multinational teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems (such as Workday).

Preferred Skills :

  • Familiarity with international tax systems and policies.

  • Strong understanding of compliance principles related to international mobility, posted worker regulations, and cross-border employee assignments.

  • Knowledge of the synergies between Corporate Tax, Payroll Tax, Social Security, and Immigration Compliance, particularly in the context of global mobility and EU regulations.

  • Experience with global mobility software and US payroll systems such as UKGPro or ADP.

  • Working knowledge of Power Platform including Power BI and Power Automate tools to analyze large sets of complex data.

  • Certification in global mobility (e.g., GMS or similar) is a plus.

Please note that actual salary for this position is closer to the middle of the posted pay range.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
