Manager, Business Development (Channel Program Strategy)

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the manager is a key member who will work cross functionally to execute & drive alignment for channel strategies across sales, marketing, operations and product. This role will work with existing & new channel partners to further develop the depth and value of the partnership while driving revenue growth for Paylocity. The position will have visibility with senior executives at Paylocity and an opportunity to enhance Paylocity’s standing with its partners.

Primary Responsibilities

Knowledge and Application:

  • Work directly with the Senior Director and Director of Business Development in the development of strategic plans and execution of key strategic initiatives

  • Partner and coordinate with cross functional teams (sales, marketing, operations and product) to research and develop high impacting ideas to enable our leadership team to make key strategic decisions

  • Ability to translate robust and complex ideas into easy consumable executive level presentation formats

  • Explore and evaluate new potential channel categories by developing business cases inclusive of GTM strategy and execution plan

  • Develop & execute high performing programs for channel partners, including cross-functional alignment, with a focus on driving revenue growth & market expansion

  • Become a subject matter expert of Paylocity’s channel partner programs and be able to identify opportunity for program expansion by partnering closely with the channel sales

  • Ability to think critically and systemically approach multi-faceted issues

  • Comfortable navigating uncertainly, managing multiple variables and making informed decisions in a changing environment

  • Independent thinker and self-starter with ability to prioritize work streams

  • Understands how to build consensus and has the ability to establish trusting relationships with cross-functional teams

  • End to end project ownership and management on impactful cross functional initiatives

Collaboration and Interaction:

  • Assist in leading cross functional teams including sales, marketing, ops and product teams to execute strategies and ensure alignment across functions to successfully launch, manage & expand partnerships and partner programs

Education and Experience:

  • 4-6+ years of experience working for a high growth technology company with 3+ years in corporate development, strategic partnerships, business development or strategy role

  • 2+ years of experience at a top tier investment bank or management consulting firm

  • An undergraduate degree is required; business or finance preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated strong project planning and cross-functional team management and participation skills

  • Good work ethic; accustomed to delivering results in an organized manner. Highly engaged, hands-on, self-starter

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing executive level strategic and financial presentations

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
