APTIM Sr. Business Analyst - IT in Remote United States, United States

Job Overview:

The APTIM Service Line Business Analyst (BA) role is comprised of both strategic and operational responsibilities aligned to the technology needs, and use of the tools by the business to develop and grow our service line offerings and strengthen our project delivery. The APTIM Technology Roadmap includes the development, implementation and management of a service line tailored technology toolkit comprised of best-in-class technology solutions that best support how we work and provide best value and unparalleled service to our Clients. Strategically, the Service Line BA will work with the Stakeholder team to develop, maintain, and represent the technology strategy and toolkit for their Service Line. They will ensure our technology "currency" for that business, as well as affect emerging technology within that market or industry. The BA must know our clients, understand their challenges and work with the business to offer the best technology solutions. Similarly the BA will know our competition and their technology position as we work to create differentiation and optimize performance for APTIM.

Operationally, the Service Line BA will know and represent the content of the toolkit back to the business. They will facilitate software evaluations, reviews, implementations, and training ensuring our use of the toolkit is optimized and that we are operationally realizing the full value of the data therein. The BA will represent the requirements of the Service Line back into IT to ensure our IT roadmap is aligned with business needs and compliant with specific business requirements including Data Analytics and Integrations, Security, etc and that IT is positioned to support and bring our best solutions and resources to the projects.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities :

  • Functional support of the technology tools included in the Service Line toolkit.

  • Works with internal stakeholders and technology SME's to fully understand requirements and perform gap analyses.

  • Source and document detailed business requirements.

  • Works with Data Architecture team to confirm application data model matches business need and toolkit efficiency.

  • Support deployment, training, and other implementation activities

  • Create and maintain toolkit marketing collateral with the Proposals team and MarCom for use in proposals, social media, newsletters, and other marketing activities.

  • Represent technology in proposal efforts as needed. (win strategy, text development and cost estimates, etc)

  • Serve as POC for all Service Line technology vendors/partners. Know and affect their products, product strategies, and interoperability.

  • Represent the Service Line toolkit to new projects, project readiness and startup activities.

  • Work with operational teams to develop execution strategies and process workflows the tools will support during project execution.

  • Assemble technology resources where needed and support tool initiation, configuration, and deployment at project startup based on the project team's execution strategy.

  • Work with Service Line operations to drive consistency and compliance in execution and reporting

  • Develop and manage process improvement and technology investment performance metrics to track and communicate results of technology deployment

  • Prioritize and manage technology related resources and support requirements

  • Work with various cross functional and multi-disciplinary teams to adopt and achieve focused and consistent goals involving the use of technology.

  • Be an Agent of Change and work through change management challenges with project teams and business line leadership.

  • Work independently and collaboratively

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Experience with the basics of project management.

  • Experience developing and executing technology business strategy; knowledge of business structure

  • Experience implementing and supporting technology stacks/platforms

  • Requires understanding of interfaces with other business systems.

  • Requirements engineering and process modeling

  • Experience budgeting, forecasting, variance, and cost benefit analyses

  • Strong aptitude for process improvement and change management.

  • Knowledge of and experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or equivalent.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication, analytical, computer, and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical thinking and problem solving

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines

  • Ability to assist others in defining their needs in a collaborative, tactful manner

  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Facilitation skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Business Analyst role
