APTIM Project Management Assistant in Remote United States, United States

Job Summary:

APTIM currently has a career-growth opportunity for a Project Management Assistant to support our growing backlog of Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) project work. The preferred candidate will be an engineer or scientist with prior experience supporting MMRP projects in a technical or field supervisory role who desires to transition into a Project Manager career track. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are a must, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including craft labor, professional technical staff, back-office support, subcontractors, client representatives, and regulatory personnel alike. Desired candidate would be located in the western U.S. with preference for working out of our Denver, CO or Concord, CA offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the project manager in the setup, execution, and tracking of projects.

  • Applies technical expertise to improve effectiveness and provide guidance to project team members.

  • Perform various project administration support activities from initiation through project closeout.

  • Provide project estimating, cost tracking, procurement, and schedule support.

  • Assists in the preparation and facilitation of internal and external project meetings with project team and clients.

  • Support project planning and execution in accordance with established guidance, standards, policies, procedures, systems, approved plans, and contract requirements.

  • Manage project records in accordance with corporate policies.

  • Coordinate project closeout activities, including reporting and subcontracting.

  • Strict adherence to company safety and quality programs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Have a minimum 3 years' experience supporting DoD-funded projects; MMRP-specific experience a plus.

  • Possess a Bachelors' degree in a scientific or engineering discipline; professional registration a plus.

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products and project scheduling software.

  • Desire to obtain Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificate preferred.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to mobilize to project locations, including overnight travel.

  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, to meet project deadlines.
