Job Overview:

APTIM is looking for a Director of Sustainability Services to lead, sell and direct sustainability project opportunities across APTIM's commercial and federal client portfolios. This role is a key element of APTIM's growth strategy to expand our sustainability, resiliency, and climate change end-to-end service offerings to our customers.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Work with a team of engineers and scientists to plan and implement sustainable projects to meet our client's goals.

• Serve as a highly collaborative subject matter expert on various sustainability topics, including ESG reporting, circular economy, science-based targets, certifications, materiality assessments, data collection/analysis/management, carbon reporting and lifecycle assessments.

• Directly responsible for an annual sales goal and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software sales pipeline goal.

• As a Sales Director (senior "seller/doer"), personally win new Sustainability services business. Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take an active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.

• Lead and support sustainability offering outreach and proposal efforts targeting new and existing clients, achieving goals for project pipeline development, proposal submissions, contract winning and revenue recognition.

• Leverage industry-recognized tools and standards to develop and implement client-focused sustainability strategies and solutions specifically for carbon, waste, water, and energy.

• Develop and implement growth strategies for the internal Sustainability Services team.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in sustainability, environmental policy, climate change, planning, civil engineering or related field. Master's Degree preferred.

• 10+ years' experience in sustainability consulting, strategy, reporting, project design and implementation in a leadership position.

• Broad understanding of current sustainability topics including climate resilience, zero waste planning, renewables and emerging technologies.

• Applied experience with sustainability standards, including the GHG Protocol, UN SDGs and others.

• Growth mindset with 5+ years' of demonstrated success in business development and proposal development.

• Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

• ENV SP, LEED AP, WELL AP, TRUE Advisor, or other sustainability-related accreditations are a plus.
