Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY:

Approaches data governance with a data as a product and governance as a service mindset. Partners across Operations within the Transaction Processing Shared Services organization supporting lines of business leaders, Risk/Compliance professionals, and technology partners to support and maintain data governance practices and processes across Operations as it relates to Consumer, Payments, and Contact Center data and analytics usage. Thorough knowledge across application of Business Intelligence tools (e.g.: Power BI or other BI Tools) and Data concepts including ETL, ELT, and Azure required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports Metadata Dictionary knowledge through ingestion of critical data knowledge, quality rules, and ensures information can pass into Microsoft Purview leveraging MS SQL, Oracle, Hive, and DB2 query languages. Microsoft SQL predominantly.

  • Supports Metrics Dictionary through the lineage awareness of key metrics and ensures alignment within the Metadata Dictionary of all fields

  • Provide support around critical data/information and how it is used for business processing within the organization. This may be for many systems of record, provisioning points (data warehouses, marts) or business processes.

  • Ensure that strong controls are in place to deliver data that is fit for purpose within Operations for assigned system of record, provisioning point or business process(s) in alignment with Data Stewards

  • Facilitates development of business data flows and control documentation as well as performs control assessment review for all high-risk reports.

  • Signoff on accuracy of business data flows, and control environment.

  • Ensure compliance with the enterprise data governance policy and guidance & adopt enterprise solutions.

  • Be knowledgeable about consumers use and needs for the data delivered within the business in support of internal and external business line functions.

  • Support manager in development and documentation of KPIs, identification of risk and development of remediation approaches and plans.

  • Actively ensures compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies and procedures. Actively participates in any required corporate and business line training in these areas. Follows account opening procedures and understands and follows internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes, as required for this position. Actively works with customers to understand each customer's normal account activity, as appropriate for this position.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • A strong individual who works independently with process flows and key requirements.

  • Sustains solid technical/functional understanding of systems and platforms such as AWS Amazon Connect, Black Knight / ICE, Claims and Disputes, Nexidia Speech Analytics, Hadoop/Hive Data Environments, AWS S3, Azure, Power BI, and various database systems ( MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 ).

  • Assesses technical landscape and incorporates knowledge into key data catalogues while supporting business needs for both short-term success and long-term success across the data landscape as it pertains to serving data consumers and quality expectations.

  • Solid analysis skills. Strong communication across Technical and Team partners.

  • Great problem-solving skills.

  • Great risk documentation skills and the ability to hold teams accountable for sustaining data governance in the work that they do.

The role is posted as remote; however, candidates who are located near any one of our locations would be required to work on site at least 3 days per week
