APTIM Equipment Operator/ Foreman in Remote, Ohio

Job Overview: Oversee a construction crew to install Landfill Gas piping and other components associated with the LFG operation at a landfill. Ability to run a track mounted drill rig is a plus.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Supervise a crew to drill and install methane gas extraction wells.
  • Train construction personnel.
  • Follow all maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Operate track mounted drilling equipment.
  • Get each well depth signed off by site engineer before drilling commences.
  • Operate hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment.
  • Connect sections of drill pipe, using HDPE welding machines and PVC pipe with Glue and primer.
  • Maintain records of footage drilled, location, and follow instructions from site manager
  • Record operational and/or environmental data
  • Maintain and adjust machinery to ensure proper performance.
  • Maintain drilling equipment.
  • Operate off road trucks and excavators on side slopes.
  • Locate and recover lost or broken bits.
  • Measure materials or objects for installation or assembly.
  • Directing rig crews in drilling and other activities, such as setting up rigs and completing or servicing wells.
  • Repair or replace defective parts of machinery.
  • Install well heads and valves.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficiently operates hand and foot levers to insure proper operation of assigned equipment.
  • Have a knowledge of safely operating assigned equipment.
  • Loads, transports, and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Performs maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Supervise a three man drill crew.
  • Typically reports to a construction manager or project manager
  • HAZWOPER Certification is preferred but not required with 8 hour refresher course.
