Job Summary

The Accounts Payable and Billing teams are seeking an adaptable and detail-oriented Accounting Intern for Summer 2025 . The intern will assist with processing invoices, statements, vendor information, and payments, as well working directly with internal and external customers to provide timely customer service. Join a shared services team and gain exposure to multiple teams with professionals in a cross-functional and collaborative work environment.

This position is full-time onsite/hybrid in Columbus, OH .

Responsibilities

  • Enter invoices and complete corrections for vouchers in Costpoint.

  • Enter past due statements and follow-up with investigation into the action items needed.

  • Communicate with internal Battelle customers and external vendors with a service-oriented mindset, keeping in mind internal procedures and compliance.

  • Responsibilities will include those similar to what full-time Accounting Associates at Battelle handle

  • Ensures financial data is translated into the system appropriately to ensure billing and reporting is defined accurately for the client.

  • Preparing and analyzing client invoices.

  • Interacting with Project Manager and Project Controller Analyst to review client invoices and resolve issues.

Key Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related major.

  • Must have at least two years of college experience at the start of the internship.

  • Experience through coursework or practical experience with analysis (i.e. contracts, data, etc.).

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be U.S. Citizen,

Preferred Qualifications

  • Students with coursework successfully completed in Financial and Managerial Accounting will be given preference.
