Blue Cross NC is seeking hands on problem solvers who want to play a direct role in optimizing and scaling our rapidly growing Diversified Business Group. The Manager of Business Operations will be responsible for developing and maintaining the management systems and practices to optimize the performance of this division and our subsidiary companies. In this critical role, you will lead a team of high-performing individuals responsible for developing and optimizing our divisional operating model with our subsidiaries, identifying and executing on performance improvement initiatives, and leading the definition and collection of performance reporting for our subsidiaries. Success in this role will be driven by the ability to identify and execute high-impact performance improvement initiatives in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain, govern, and refine the operating model between Blue Cross NC and our subsidiary companies to drive effective and efficient joint operations, with a specific focus on products that are delivered in partnership between Blue Cross NC and our subsidiaries.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify root cause challenges and generate solutions to improve performance of DBG, our subsidiaries, and the products they power.

  • Manage high-profile, high-impact initiatives, from developing the initial business case through execution and roll out of new processes, management systems, and technologies to drive performance improvement.

  • Support budget, resource, and execution planning with DBG subsidiaries to ensure they are positioned to achieve ambitious growth and deliver exceptional customer experience.

  • Help define operational goals for DBG subsidiaries during the annual planning process; lead collection and automation of all KPIs for DBG subsidiaries to support performance management of DBG’s lines of business.

  • Lead the planning, development, and implementation of standard operating procedures and enterprise risk management practices and assist with the communication and education of new SOPs to key stakeholders within DBG and our subsidiaries.

  • Lead a team of high-performing individuals to execute on numerous initiatives in parallel; provide clear focus and prioritization of competing initiatives within an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Give:

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 8+ years of experience in related field.

  • In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field.

  • Highly collaborative approach to management and executing initiatives in a matrix environment.

  • Experience developing market overviews, understanding competitive positioning, analyzing market trends, and understanding customer needs.

  • Ability to think creatively and strategically while handling difficult and complex issues.

  • Excellent leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.

  • Ability to meet time deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to manage extensive amounts of complex information, connect and interrelate disparate ideas and thoughts, pay attention to detail, and work effectively with varying constituencies.

  • Strong quantitative and financial analysis skills.

  • Excellent consultative skills, with exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new topics and demonstrated structured problem solving.

Salary Range

$105,600.00 - $191,800.00
