Sr. Software QA Engineer

Provation is looking for a SaaS Sr. Software Quality Assurance Engineer who loves to be a hands-on technical problem-solver while simultaneously operating as a subject matter expert for our products! The Sr. SQA Engineer will act as a quality evangelist, working with Development, Product, Services and Operations to ensure the customer experience is best in class.

Overview

The right candidate has expertise authoring test automation for SaaS products. This Sr. SQA Engineer will provide attention to detail, exhibit creativity around catalyzing test efficiencies and proactively mitigate risk. The Sr. SQA Engineer will possess a unique blend of technical savvy and passion for software quality. Interpersonal acumen is a must. The position requires clear and positive communication across departments. Innovation and problem solving are also key to success in this role.

Core Activities

• Learn, understand and leverage cutting edge technologies and tools to drive testing efficiencies

• Proactively research industry trends and best practices and apply them where applicable

• Leverage existing automation frameworks, platforms and patterns to decrease lead time

• Ensure quality throughout the CI/CD pipeline

• Provide effectual code review feedback to Development and QA team members

• Collaborate with QA, Development, Product and Operations to ensure all feature functionality have proper test coverage, and quality

• Utilize expertise within and outside the team to promote quality releases

• Employ mastery of specific application and technology domains

• Manually verify and validate new features and bugs

• Translate work items into worthwhile test cases and automate them where possible

• Actively participate in agile ceremonies including daily stand ups, estimation, and backlog grooming

• Perform product releases and assist with 3 rd level support

• Provide guidance to colleagues and unblock the team

• Champion quality throughout the development process

About You

• BS degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of automation or development experience

• Expertise authoring API and E2E tests

• Experience developing or testing complex cloud solutions

• Experience executing test automation at scale

• Experience utilizing deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines

• Hands-on experience in contributing to in-house test automation frameworks and tools

• Proficiency with C# or other object-oriented programming language

• Proficiency with web-based technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML5

• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as xUnit & Jasmine

• Experience with SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Git

• Experience in a fast-paced agile environment

Not Required but a Plus

• Experience using testing platforms such as Sauce Labs or BrowserStack

• Experience using monitoring tools such as Azure Application Insights or Datadog

• Experience with performance testing

• Experience with or exposure to containerization

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 63,000.00 - 117,000.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location.
