Role Summary/Purpose

The Sr Staff Cyber Security – Cyber Data will lead a high-powered team of data and continuous monitoring cyber security engineers. This position will be responsible for development and execution of the cyber continuous monitoring and data strategy, as well as reporting, monitoring and alerting efforts at the organization. S/he will leverage deep technology, process, and domain expertise to drive data and continuous monitoring operations as well as execution of projects and improvements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of cyber continuous monitoring and data. Takes new perspective on existing solutions.

  • Collaborate with partners and leadership in defining functionality and specifying requirements to provide visibility and alerting on security control status.

  • Define and develop a data management ecosystem to collect and visualize sensitive cyber data from multiple, disparate source systems.

  • Prepare reports of security and threat monitoring, assesses threat data and supports responses as needed.

  • Drive improvement, automation and adoption of standardized continuous monitoring and reporting tools

  • Ensure services and solutions delivered align with company strategy and includes analytic integration for visualization.

  • Manage and develop dashboards, logging and alerting mechanisms to drive continuous monitoring effectively and efficiently.

  • Promote peer, cross-functional and cross-business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.

  • Coordinate execution across multiple projects and drive shared approach and outcomes tracking.

  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required.

  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project.

  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting at various levels of the organization including leadership and executives.

  • Provide regular metrics and reporting to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the services, facilitate appropriate resource allocation, and increase the overall maturity of our products & capabilities.

  • Run Lean methodologies & metrics related to safety, quality, delivery and cost within your respective area

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Information Security and or engineering

Desired Characteristics

  • Vernova segments/business experience is highly desired .

  • IT cybersecurity and/or risk management certifications

  • Data architecture experience, developing cloud based solutions to data transmission and report requirements, preferably with AWS

  • Ability to solve very complex security issues across various lines of business and shared service areas of the company.

  • Demonstrated thought leader supporting innovative solutions to exceed customer expectations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written / verbal communication and leadership skills with the ability to quickly build credibility, influence and make recommendations to all levels.

  • Demonstrated experience embracing “team of teams” way of working.

  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership.

  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint, partners with customers to shape future state products and strategy.

  • Experience working with others on a global basis.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plans.

  • Experience leading technical teams.
