Sr. Payroll Analyst-US Remote-Remote Indiana

(Preferred candidate would be in the state of Indiana)

The Sr. Payroll Analyst will precisely execute the ongoing processes for payroll operations, as well as optimizing quality and effectiveness of payroll operations. They will maintain and support business applications used for Payroll operations. This position will partner with OneSource Virtual (OSV) Payroll Services for the Allegion business as well as support audits, acquisitions, and special projects. Ongoing responsibilities could include the coordination of payroll tax administration, processing equity, relocation and expat transactions, processing payroll deductions and adjustments, working closely with internal partners to resolve payroll issues.

What You Will Do:

  • Analyze problems and opportunities as they arise. Take into account all fact-based information available to provide meaningful suggestions/solutions. Asks appropriate follow-up questions to try to determine the root cause of the problem.

  • Utilizes reporting tools to validate data and provide analysis to customers. Reviews historical data and research trends to help the business make decisions.

  • Must understand how the system interfaces with other departments and systems (e.g. Treasury, Finance, HRIS) and works proactively with the these functional areas as well as the payroll team on escalating any issues to other teams as necessary.

  • Analyze business operations to conduct regular discussions with business divisions to review, evaluate, develop, and implement new processes.

  • Independently research payroll tax issues and provide direction to vendor on resolution

  • Direct responsibility or oversight of payroll deduction processing including taxes, benefit deductions, garnishments and leave pay administration

  • Partner with payroll vendor services to ensure compliance with state and local regulations

  • Develop and implement processes to ensure accurate collection, calculation, and entering of payroll data

  • Support US and Canadian payroll activity including email and vendor support

  • Provide assessment and analysis as a subject matter expert for integration of acquisitions and vendor changes

  • Understand and maintain payroll internal controls (including SOX compliance) ensuring proper rules, policies, and procedures are applied to entire payroll activities.

  • Individually maintain, review, update, and/or create ongoing training documentation based on changes to process and procedures

  • Mentor and train new team members on current payroll processes and procedures

  • Maintain Payroll professional and technical knowledge and new laws via self-directed learning/webinars/seminars, and through review of professional publications establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations

  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by the manager

What You Need to Succeed:

  • BS/BA required. Preferred degree in human resources, finance, or business, Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred.

  • Experienced payroll professional with 5+ years of payroll administration and multi-state experience with 2+ years of payroll tax experience

  • Must be able to independently work in a remote setting with little to no guidance

  • Workday and Kronos experience preferred

  • Experience with HR systems query building and reporting

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

  • Understanding of compensation and wage structure and benefits administration.

  • Strong analytical, project management and problem resolution skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop others

  • Strong change management experience required

  • Must have effective decision-making/critical thinking skills

  • Ability to collaborate, consult and partner with all levels and work well in a team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal communications (verbal and written)

  • Ability to multi-task, act with a sense of urgency and produce results.

  • Strong working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local rules and laws

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

  • The expected Base Salary Range: $73,600 to $93,900. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

  • Bonus Eligible: Yes
