Channel Marketing Manager

This position is responsible for leading the development and execution of channel marketing activities and programs for a key omni-channel retail partner. This includes the channel marketing and demand of both mechanical door hardware and electronic smart locks for Schlage. The role includes direct responsibility for in-store merchandising; eCommerce merchandising, marketing and optimization; negotiating and managing an omni-channel retail media plan; creation and measurement of retail promotions; retail execution of product launches; and developing strong partnership relationships as you bring all this to life with our key retailer. The position will work to create a winning and inclusive culture as we work cross-functionally and foster collaborative relationships and partnerships with all internal partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the annual omni-channel marketing program to support our sales plan with a key retail partner

  • Execute on brand, product, and channel priorities via overall marketing plan, including: in-store merchandising planning and execution; eCommerce merchandising and digital presence on retailer’s website; negotiating and managing an omni-channel retail media plan; creation and measurement of retail promotions; retail execution of product launches; and developing strong partnership relationships as you bring all this to life with our key retailer

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Brand Management, Product Management, and Field Training Teams.

  • Lead content aggregation, distribution, and optimization within assigned retail channel

  • Understand target audience(s)’ key needs / desires and purchase behavior in purchase journey, and use that to bring marketing to life at retailer

  • Support sales team in the annual retail Product Line Reviews (PLRs) and Business Reviews (BRs) which may include merchandising, packaging, or marketing support plans. Participate in the sales meetings.

  • Merchandising: Lead and execute all in store merchandising assets from ideation to concepts, business case development, vendor management and in-field execution with retail partner(s). Support all retail assortment resets by partnering with the retailer to author the RIG / set instructions. Partner with the field sales team and merchandising support teams for product merchandising reset completion.

  • eCommerce: Partner with team to bring live the chosen product assortment online. Optimize images, videos, content, brand pages, etc. Lead weekly calls with retailer’s Digital Brand Advocate to assess eCommerce marketing results and identify opportunities to enhance our presence. Bring these opportunities to life through partnerships with our internal teams and the retailers’ teams.

  • Retail Media : Negotiate an annual retail media plan with retailer to include onsite and offsite media. Partner with our advertising agency to bring this retail media plan to life on all platforms. Interpret results and work with agency and retailer’s media team to optimize the plan for ROAS.

  • Promotions: Develop an annual promotional calendar of product promotions to support our and retailer’s key drive times. Conduct financial analysis to gain internal support, and present promotions to the retailer. Ensure execution and marketing support. Measure results and identify trends to enhance future promotions.

  • New Product Launches : Support new product introduction marketing efforts including collateral development, demand creation plans and communication strategy, retail launch plans, and training tools and execution.

  • Support internal and external vendors including assisting in development of Statement of Work and project oversight ensuring completion on time and on budget

  • Support development and management of channel marketing budget, expenses, and forecasts.

  • Analyze data to track marketing effectiveness (i.e., merchandising, promotion, digital) and identify new opportunities or strategies. Build business cases, oversee financial analysis, and gather internal support/approval for various initiatives supporting the channel.

  • Represent Channel Marketing in cross functional meetings within the organization.

  • Maintain partnerships amongst cross-functional teams such as Sales, Brand and Product by sharing data, updates, and strategy to support marketing related initiatives.

  • Understand, analyze, monitor, action and continuously improve strategic internal and external partner KPIs, VOC, competitive activities, trends, etc. for marketing, planning and growth purposes.

  • Prepare and create final content for monthly sales calls.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Finance, or Business required.

  • 5+ years of channel marketing or related experience

  • Big Box retail experience, ideally marketing hardline goods that are not commodities

  • Strong business acumen with proven strategic planning and a track record of profitable growth

  • Experience with the implementation of growth and marketing initiatives that lead to stronger market advantages.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to execute/implement on strategic design.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities (able to clearly, concisely share information to appropriate stakeholders internally and externally with appropriate level of detail/context), strong presentation skills.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and influencing skills at all levels in the organization.

  • Ability to travel 10-15% (to company corporate location, or if not in Atlanta, to primary corporate location and on market field visits)

Critical Skills Preferred:

  • Experience in B2C brand marketing and/or channel marketing and sales activation activities. Leadership experience preferred.

  • Experience leading strategic Initiatives (i.e., launched a new product, category expansion experience LEADING the work and cross-functional stakeholders)

  • Ability to identify and provide strategic insights such as Market Conditions, Competitive Activities, Strategic KPIs for Channel Partners

  • Advanced 'presence' and confidence in ability to represent Allegion in support of company goals.

  • Strong internal brand and credibility with internal stakeholders/partners (Or ability to build quickly)

  • Advanced understanding of how manufacturer and retailer operate in typical business review, sales process, and operations processes

  • Understanding of sales pipeline and channel management; including experience supporting pricing strategy for various channel partners, navigating market pricing dynamics

  • Solid understanding of multi-step distribution and indirect channel sales

  • Advanced functional understanding of analytics and how best to develop insights and action plans based on data.

Compensation : This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

  • The expected Base Salary Range: $82,500-$145,800. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
