What you'll do... :

H&R Block is seeking a Data Scientist/Quality Analyst for the Data Management and Acquisition team within Strategy & Operations. This remote or local position will ensure that high quality data is provided to support analytics and reports for Senior leaders and business stake holders.

Day to Day, You'll...

• Work on large data sets using Azure SQL DB

• Extract data from JSON formats and load to Hive Tables – evolve and maintain an efficient/generic process

• Process data using Databricks Notebooks and Python and maintain it in ADO repositories

• Create/Maintain custom Python libraries as needed to support Analytics teams

• Interact with Business Stake holders, Data Scientists, and the Technology team to prepare and cleanse the data for analytics and reporting needs

• Monitor work using Azure Dev Ops (ADO) stories

• Automate process as needed to improve the speed of delivery

• Be a continuous learner, with the goal of expert level understanding of H&R Block data

• Work closely with the Technology team and Analytics team to review roadmaps and understand future needs.

What you'll bring to the team... :

• Bachelor’s (preferred in Computer Science, Data Science)

• Hands on Experience in Data Bricks, Python and handling Hive Tables

• ETL process knowledge

• Azure SQL Database - Writing Complex SQL queries efficiently and optimizing them

• Exposure to ADO, DevOps and GitHub integrations using CI/CD

• Effective Oral, Written and Interpersonal communication skills

• Be customer-centric, curious, a problem solver, and better together
