Insight Global Assistant Patient Care Manager Pre-Op & PACU in Redwood City, California

Hi Everyone,

We have an exciting new opening for an Assistant Patient Care Manager in Pre-Op & PACU. This role involves assisting the Patient Care Manager with both clinical management and administrative coordination of designated patient care units or services. The Assistant Patient Care Manager supports the Patient Care Manager in achieving the units goals and objectives and acts as a resource and representative for the Patient Care Manager.

Key responsibilities include supervising patient care staff and operations during assigned shifts, coordinating administrative functions as assigned, and ensuring consistent implementation and monitoring of organizational policies and standards of care. This position combines clinical (patient care) and administrative duties, providing consistent and timely information and feedback to the Patient Care Manager. Additionally, the role requires knowledge and application of all personnel policies and collective bargaining agreements.

Unlike Patient Care Managers, who have total responsibility and accountability for one or more patient care units or services, Assistant Patient Care Managers work in a supportive capacity to help manage these areas effectively.

Job Description Overview

C-I-CARE is the foundation of the patient experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions.

Assists in the operational aspects of designated unit(s), providing mentoring and leadership support to staff. Supervises the delivery of quality, therapeutic, and cost-effective patient care in line with standards of practice, hospital protocols, policies, procedures, and desired patient outcomes.

Supports the Patient Care Manager in administrative and management functions, assuming their duties and responsibilities as delegated or in their absence.

Coordinates and directs patient care operations for assigned shifts, acting on behalf of the Patient Care Manager.

Facilitates orientation, training, and ongoing staff development. Assists in coaching, developing, and corrective action of personnel as needed. Participates in ongoing and annual employee performance evaluations. Ensures the effective delivery of competent, compassionate care by monitoring and evaluating patient care processes and outcomes to maintain smooth workflow and desired outcomes. Communicates the application and implementation of unit, department, and organizational philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures to staff. Monitors staff performance and communicates expectations. Participates in unit goal and program planning, development, and evaluation of programs and special projects. Supports continuous quality, process, and performance improvement, and risk management programs at the unit level.

Provides competent and compassionate patient care appropriate to the age and condition of the patient, serving as a role model and mentor. Assists with unit workload.

Acts as a liaison to the Patient Care Manager.

Setting Expectations:

The Life Support Lead sets expectations for classroom setup, cleanup, and equipment management.

Life Support Contractor Training:

The Life Support Lead conducts AHA guideline updates and provides course materials.

Ensure competence is maintained by regularly teaching courses and being observed by the Life Support Lead.

Conduct instructor meetings and training as required by the AHA and CEPD.

Skills and Requirements

MINMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited academic institution.

Licenses and Certifications

RN - Registered Nurse

Experience

Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

Clinical experience in both PreOp and PACU (> or = 2 years) as well as leadership skills (> or = 2 years). null
