Responsibilities The Data Scientist is responsible for performing duties involving the identification of methods, processes, algorithms, tools, and systems to extract and interpret findings from structured and unstructured data sets. Works on unique and complex tasks requiring unconventional approaches and applying and adapting sophisticated analytical techniques. Conducts scientific investigative studies involving the development or application of methodologies that extend beyond the present state of the art or involve and require highly original and imaginative approaches. Support analyses in one or more of the following areas: programming skills; machine learning; data architecture; data visualization; modeling and simulations; technology support; business and resource analysis. Serves as a Data Scientist using data science and analytics to plan, conduct, and present complex analyses related to supply chain planning and execution. Specialized experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which includes 1) creating and implementing data collection and analysis tools while utilizing computer programming language; 2) Utilizing software applications and software languages such as (PowerBI, Tableau, Python, oracle and other data analytics tool)s to generate reports or data visualizations that convey data to technical and non-technical audiences; 3) collaborating with internal or external stakeholders to review specialized data and recommend solutions.
