Microsoft Corporation Technical Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

The Audit, Risk, and Compliance (ARC) Group is looking for a Technical Program Manager in the Reporting and Analytics team. The team is responsible for identifying data-based insights, solutions and supporting end-to-end projects across the various ARC teams. They build connective tissue across ARC and external stakeholders via analytics and technology.

As the Technical Program Manager, you are experienced and comfortable in providing insightful business and data analytics. The candidate will need to be able to apply a breadth of tools that aggregate information from multiple data sources to create a complete business view and translate the data into actionable insights. You will cultivate and create new business insights that support a growing business and result in business optimization. Responsibilities

  • Develop or partner with Engineering to design solutions to complex technical needs.

  • Proposes, designs, builds and deliver solutions that transform large raw data sets into actionable insights and support on-going operational usage.

  • Collaborate with our business partners to understand objectives, identify opportunities, and prioritize projects to deliver maximum business impact and return on investment.

  • Understands what options are available and partners with others to identify and select best option for needs and creates new solutions if needed.

  • Ensure delivered solutions are stable, supportable, compliant, extensible, and trusted by our business partners.

  • Educate customers on how to leverage large data sets as an asset for their function/business.

  • Drive data standards and continuous improvement feedback loop.

  • Analysis of business requirements, needs, process and defining solutions to provide automation, or insights based on large data sets.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Experience creating data visualizations and modeling using technologies like SQL, Power BI (DAX and M Query), Excel, KQL, Azure (ADF), Python and/ or R.

  • This role requires you to be onsite at our Redmond, WA hub 3+ days a week.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to be a “thought partner” with business process owners to understand their needs, then guide them towards solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to process data using SQL and Python and building dashboards with PowerBI

  • SQL Server Analysis Services cube.

  • Experience with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, etc)

  • Experience creating data visualizations and modeling using technologies like T-SQL, Power BI (DAX and M Query), Excel, KQL, Azure (ADF), Python, R.

  • Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity and put forward creative, innovative solutions.

  • Track record of independently driving issues to resolution and effective in communicating the approach & insights.

  • Possess a efficient work ethic, be self-sufficient, and comfortable working in a complex and dynamic environment.

  • Ability to balance competing demands for resources and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Efficient written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to synthesize complex issues/scenarios into easy-to-understand concepts.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
