Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

In Microsoft Health, our team is transforming healthcare by delivering data and intelligent services to improve health outcomes at scale. We are building a suite of Azure healthcare services with support for standards as FHIR® and DICOM®. We are growing to support additional healthcare scenarios and data types that enable our customers to derive more valuable insights and intelligence from their data.

We are currently hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Medical Imaging Team team. Medical care is going through a period of intense innovation with medical imaging being heavily influenced by advances in AI and machine learning. We build and run cloud scale services to allow healthcare organizations to improve the lives of their patients.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to drive building mission critical, cloud scalable service.

Responsibilities

Partner with Program Management, customers, and other stakeholders to define requirements, scope projects and validate solutions

  • Design, implement, ship, and maintain features and services

  • Support customers and livesite in a DevOps model

  • Build for security, privacy, scalability, and compliance

  • Lead others by exemplifying technical excellence, inclusiveness, teamwork, and customer focus

  • Learn healthcare industry standards and unique customer needs

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience building and shipping production software in C#, C++, or Java or simliar langauges

  • 3+ years of experience with SQL and/or no-SQL databases

  • 2+ years of experience building and maintaining cloud-scale services

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of experience building and shipping production software in C#, C++, or Java or simliar

  • Experience with .NET, C# and associated toolsets / frameworks

  • Experience with Kubernetes

  • Experience with or interest in technology in the healthcare industry

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
