Microsoft Corporation Senior Finance Manager, Windows Consumer Lead in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft’s Windows Go-to-Market (GTM) & Ecosystem Team is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to lead Windows Consumer Finance with business acumen, analytics and thought leadership. You will have the opportunity to own end-to-end forecasting from demand trends to inventory dynamics, and to sell-in devices across all geographies.

This highly visible role gives you the opportunity to drive impact with multiple groups at Microsoft, including sales channels like Device Partner Sales and Consumer Sales Organization to Engineering and Marketing. Finance plays an integral part in developing growth strategies along with providing clarity to business partners to drive tactical and strategic execution of Microsoft’s business priorities.  

The Senior Finance Manager, Windows Consumer Lead sits on the Windows Revenue team, which owns budgeting and forecasting rhythms across the Windows Device Licensing business units.  You will play a pivotal role in regular forecasting and Return on Investment (ROI) analysis to drive accurate and impactful business decisions. Additionally, you will enjoy engaging and facing complex challenges, while creating clarity and driver-based narratives to land story-lines to executives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly Windows Consumer forecasting end-to-end across sell-thru, inventory, and sell-in and across all geographies

  • Create structured frameworks for drivers and assumptions that go into the forecast and effectively communicate to business partners and stakeholders

  • Partner with Consumer Sales Organization on ROI frameworks for investment initiatives

  • Work on various ad-hoc projects to enhance forecasting, such as Machine Learning

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience. 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications  

  • Desire for great work and demonstrated motivation.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize across multiple work-streams with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in an accelerated environment. 

  • Ability to operate in ambiguous settings while generating clarity and bringing partners along, as well as share opinions and influence decisions.

  • Dependable analytics and structured thinking, reinforced by proficient Excel modeling skills.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
