The Senior Finance Manager, Modern Work Business & Analytics, has ownership of all Seat-based health measures for our Modern Work & Security (MW&S) business and is responsible for ensuring diligence of all measures, including internal and externally reported results. In this role, you will be creating and strengthening processes that ensure accurate and timely reporting of our seat (per user) health measures, driving for continuous improvement in both processes and reporting, evangelizing the use cases for seat-based health measures (whitespace, upsell, average revenue per user), and driving clarity in our month-end reporting and external disclosures. Additionally, you will influence internal and external reporting and business health across numerous teams, including engineering, business planning, sales and finance.

Responsibilities

Protect

  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial reports to ensure accuracy and support of controls. Monitors control processes and procedures regarding seat reporting, as well as recommends and executes corrective and improvement measures.

  • Ensure collaboration between finance and engineering teams to deliver accurate reporting and continuous improvement of seats. Works with upstream stakeholders to drive clarity on responsibilities, processes and timelines to ensure accurate reporting of seats for both internal and external disclosures.

Partnership

  • Works with Microsoft specialists to identify and leverage advanced tools and technology to aid in achieving greater production, autonomy, and diligence. Drives improvements in data management through automation.

  • Understands the interconnections between data, information, and results, and translates this into forward-looking narratives. Provides clarity and alignment with leaders. Implements creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions and clearly communicate findings.

  • Provides business insights and recommendations to peers and stakeholders to achieve financial goals (e.g., resource allocation, cost optimization, revenue management, trends, and future requirements) and drive shareholder return.

Prioritize

  • Provides business leader support and actionable insights during financial close periods. Reviews reporting, forecasts and presentations; identifies trends and formulates action plans. Determines financial results (e.g., seats, average revenue per user) and conducts variance analysis; identifies causes and solutions. Collaborates to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.

  • Contributes to new and unconventional methods and approaches to data collection, analysis, interpretation, and financial models. Provides advice and direction in evaluating suitability and reliability of data, articulate limitations, and propose solutions on data management and operations. Acts as subject matter specialist for data management and operations.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experience

  • OR Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.

  • 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.

  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.

  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, capability in process improvement and implementing controls and diligence around processes to ensure accuracy and drive accountability.

  • Influence: Ability to lead teams to deliver improvements.

  • Problem-Solving: Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve financial issues and challenges.

  • Analyzing Financial Data: Analyzing financial data sources to identify anomalies, predict trends, and inform action plans, solutions and/or strategies with precise, data driven decisions. This includes the thorough examination of details and patterns to develop foresight and guide decision-making in complex, rapidly changing environments.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
