Job Description: Create designs, prototypes and/or concepts for business productivity, gaming, entertainment, or other software or hardware applications. Create bespoke user experience for both consumer and commercial applications using generative AI and large language models. Utilize innovative techniques to ensure products and services are desirable, relevant, usable, personal, and feasible. Facilitate ideation sessions, storyboarding, and brainstorming workshops to develop user scenarios and sketch early-stage mockups. Drive the design process from definition to delivery, producing design briefs, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, interaction flows, and low-fidelity prototypes. Implement Microsoft visual design languages and create special effects, designs, or other visual images that enhance the user experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate user feedback and telemetry into actionable design solutions. Drive innovation and deliver exceptional AI-first native experiences through thoughtful and cutting-edge design. Telecommuting permitted 100% from any location within mainland U.S.
Requirements:
- Education: Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Fine Art, Animation, Computer/Web Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
- Experience: Six months of experience in customer-facing design.* *
- Specific Skill Requirements: This position also requires education or experience in: Figma; Product Design; Gen AI/Large Language Model; Knowledge of AI trends in the industry; Innovative thinking for design; Using design components and pattern libraries; and creating and applying established design principles and interaction patterns.
Pay Range and Benefits Information: The offered base pay range for this specific position (job code TSKBC18351), based in Redmond, WA (but telecommuting permitted 100% from any location within mainland U.S.), is $152,200 to $182,200.
Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
