Inventory and map their entire digital estate: From devices and users to permissions, data systems, and virtual machines, we enable organizations to discover and gain visibility into every asset.
Integrate and normalize data: By pre-integrating security data from various sources and standardizing it, we empower customers to manage security logs more efficiently and affordable.
Answer critical security and governance questions: We provide insights and control over security landscapes, leveraging advanced AI and machine learning algorithms to detect patterns, uncover threats, and make informed decisions in real-time.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of a critical subsystem within this high-scale data platform. You will manage and mentor a team of engineers, drive technical strategy, and work closely with product management, security experts, and other engineering teams to ensure alignment on requirements and successful delivery. Your role will encompass both technical and managerial responsibilities, ensuring your team's work meets the highest standards of scalability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Manage: Oversee the design, implementation, and delivery of a critical subsystem, managing a team of engineers and fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Drive Technical Strategy: Develop and drive the technical strategy for your subsystem, working with partner teams to align on goals and technical decisions.
Feature Development: Guide the end-to-end development of features, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
Mentor and Develop Talent: Provide mentorship and leadership to senior and engineers, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to best practices.
Performance Optimization: Optimize subsystem performance to handle extensive security data, ensuring scalability, availability, and security.
Continuous Improvement: Promote continuous improvement by adopting
new technologies and methodologies to enhance platform capabilities. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product management, security experts, data scientists, and other engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions and ensure seamless delivery.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience
5+ years of experience with distributed systems delivering large-scale, secure, and resilient cloud services
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Data Processing Frameworks: Knowledge of data processing frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies.
Security Data Management: Experience with security data management, logging, or monitoring solutions.
Cloud-Native Architecture: Expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Leadership Skills: leadership abilities with experience driving technical projects across teams and aligning multiple stakeholders.
Communication Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
