The Windows Platform + Developer organization is focused on building the Windows platform, architecture, and developer experiences and tools, grounded on security and fundamentals. We are seeking a Principal Product Manager. In this role, you will primarily work with internal and external stakeholders on security related investments and capabilities for App Developers as we continue to put security above all else. This includes but is not limited to definition of product strategy, detailed technical specifications, dependency management, documentation, samples, evangelism, and adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Defining roadmap and strategy for the Windows App model supporting Windows & Windows Cloud.

  • Creating technical feature specifications in coordination with your peers, engineering counterparts, and cross-org v-teams.

  • Work with Windows Shell, Azure, Office, Teams, Edge, Xbox, etc. on feature request intake, dependency identification, execution excellence, and capability adoption.

  • Engage closely with the independent software vendors (ISV) community during planning, and to drive adoption of new capabilities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience working on an app development platform (Win32, UWP, iOS, Android, MacOS, etc.)

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience on designing and shipping security focused capabilities to developers

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
