Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.

We are looking for an Principal Enterprise Architect to lead the innovation of supply chain product platform which is a brand-new investment pillar for Microsoft Cloud in a fast-paced start-up environment. You will utilize innovative technologies to build products to enable the world’s largest distributed Supply Chain network. As a pivotal member of our team, the Principal Enterprise Architect will lead the design of enterprise-level supply chain orchestration products. The candidate will bring a strategic vision and a thorough level understanding of system design, integration, data mapping, and Application Programming Interface (API), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to enable supply chain end-to-end visibility and multi-party collaboration. Through the convergence of innovative tech such as AI, WEB3 and Microsoft best-in-class products, we are bringing together customers, suppliers, and partners, from various industries, to meet core Supply Chain needs and systematically drive operational efficiencies and revenue growth. These products will form the genesis of our product strategy focused on the Supply Chain vertical. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and deliver a product platform that will drive digital transformation of supply chain and other adjacent verticals by leveraging standard Azure services and best practices as well as cutting edge technologies like AI and Web3.

  • Work closely with engineering partner teams on system integration strategies and design involving ERP, JSON schema, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data models, API, and other relevant technologies.

  • Collaborate closely with the other product managers, Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and engineering stakeholders to align architectural strategies with business goals and technical requirements.

  • Conduct high-level system analysis and provide advice to improve system interoperability and performance.

  • Facilitate and lead discussions and workshops with stakeholders and customers to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable architectural plans.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in enterprise architecture.

  • Passionate about learning new technologies and function in a constantly evolving startup environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, technical engineering experience with domain experience in supply chain systems.

  • 1+ years of cloud specific service knowledge such as Azure Services (Microsoft Entra ID authentication, App Services, Functions, Message Eventing, App Services), Azure DevOps and Relational databases or Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) equivalent.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software design and development experience with middle tier or backend services.

  • 5+ years of hands on experience with a systematic and structured approach to software design in any Object-Oriented coding language such as C++, C#, Java or Python or equivalent experience with C.

  • Architect and lead the development and integration of ERP solutions such as S/4, SAP ERP, Transportation Management (TM), Secure Network Communications (SNC), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Global Trade Services (GTS), and Supply Chain Management (SCM), with a keen focus on supply chain traceability technologies like SAP Event Management (EM), Global Track and Trace (GTT), Global Batch Traceability (GBT), and Object Event Repository (OER).

  • Experience in managing PI Interfaces, EDI configurations, and workflow solutions.

  • Certifications in relevant technologies and frameworks (e.g., The Open Group Architecture (TOGAF), AWS Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect).

  • Experience writing services and micro-services on middle- or back-end tier.

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
