Microsoft Corporation Business Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

The Risk Management & Compliance Operations team is organized within the Risk Management, Trust, and Safety team in MBO. We strengthen, simplify, and scale risk management and compliance operations to protect Microsoft through proactive business engagement, identification, and mitigation of artificial intelligence (AI), corruption, digital safety and trade risk.

Responsibilities

As a Business Program Manager, you will collaborate with program managers and key stakeholders to develop and execute project and program plans. You will leverage data and performance metrics to demonstrate program value and business impact. Your role includes assessing operational processes, identifying dependencies, risks, and controls, and designing effective solutions. Proficiency in data analytics, managing large data sets, and creating backend logic to uncover insights is essential. You will also work in a compliance environment, automating manual processes and enhancing operational efficiency.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and analyze them for efficiency (waste, complexity, cost), effectiveness (achieves desired outcome), and quality.

  • Clearly and effectively communicate findings and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Identify root causes of problems and provide recommendations for practical solutions.

  • Develop project plans and overall program plans with the program owner.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience in Risk Management, Privacy, Security, Compliance, Government Intelligence, Operations, Auditing, and/or Finance

  • OR Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in Risk Management, Privacy, Security, Compliance, Government Intelligence, Operations, Auditing, and/or Finance

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Operations, Data Analytics, Program Management, or Project Management.

  • Ability to identify and implement industry best practices to improve existing processes; demonstrable achievement within a results-driven, ambiguous, and dynamic environment.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft, Microsoft’s compliance and risk frameworks, and risk domains.

  • Experience translating expressed business needs into actionable requirement artifacts and specification documentation.

  • Demonstrated excellence in thought leadership and execution management.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work effectively in a rapidly changing environment, and meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines.

  • Unwavering advocacy for customers; demonstrated ability to apply a customer-focused mindset in driving business objectives.

  • General understandings of Microsoft's data portfolio and the platform capabilities

  • Microsoft product experience in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Power BI/Fabric, and Power Automate.

  • Capacity for dealing with ambiguity and providing creative solutions.

  • Experience in identifying an issue, investigating, developing a solution, implementing change, and monitoring the results.

  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional, global teams to drive for results and solve problems.

  • Ability to assess end-to-endoperational processes, identifydependencies,risks,and controls- and design effective solutions.

Risk Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
