We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our team. The role is based from our Redditch office with hybrid working allowing for a mix of home and office working.

As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will be leading the delivery of high-quality structural input to major projects and programmes across an extensive portfolio of water frameworks. Projects will be varied, but include the design of water retaining concrete structures, dams / reservoirs, concrete and steel buildings, site inspections and assessment of existing structures.

As a senior member of team, you will also provide mentoring and guidance to more junior team members to help them develop their careers. You will report directly to our Specialist Technical Lead and will be key to developing our structural knowledge and capability. There will also be future opportunities to support the Stantec business to deliver solutions in other key business areas including Energy, Buildings and Transportation.

About You

Specific requirements of this role include the ability to carry out and lead structural design for concrete, steel, and masonry structures, and to carry out structural inspections and produce concise reports that define requirements for asset maintenance and modifications to meet client and regulatory standards. Experience within the Water or Energy sectors would be beneficial.

In addition to your structural design experience, you’ll have a good knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering, and an awareness of mechanical and electrical engineering sufficient to enable collaborative working with these other disciplines. You will also have experience of structural engineering software such as Tedds Staad.PRO, Robot Structures or similar FEM analysis software, and have experience working within a 3D design environment.
