We are looking for a Java Software Engineer to join our team in Readington Township, New Jersey. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team working on the development of robust and scalable web applications. As a Java Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing innovative solutions that enhance the overall user experience for our business and agency partners. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop front-end web applications using Angular, HTML, and CSS.

• Develop and manage backend functionalities through REST APIs constructed with Spring Boot, NodeJS, and TypeScript.

• Utilize Azure solutions such as Azure Blob, API Management, Cosmos DB, and AKS.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective application development.

• Troubleshoot and debug web applications to ensure optimal performance and functionality.

• Lead the rapid development iterations of feature level assignments.

• Contribute to the modernization of legacy systems.

• Analyze and evaluate existing legacy systems, identify areas for improvement, and propose effective modernization solutions.

• Develop migration strategies including adapting existing application code, refactoring legacy code, and integrating with other systems using the latest technology stack.

• Automate the data conversion from legacy database like IMS / DB2 to more modern database.

• Understand COBOL copybooks, parse messages in the copybook format and process them using Java.

Requirements • Proficiency in Java programming language

• Experience with cloud technologies and services

• Familiarity with HTML and CSS for web development

• Strong understanding of database design and integration

• Experience in web app development and migration

• Knowledge of REST API design and implementation

• Familiarity with software engineering best practices and methodologies

• Ability to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and implement automation for repetitive tasks

• Experience with various software development frameworks

• Ability to collaborate effectively with partners and team members

• Supervisory skills to oversee projects and teams

• Knowledge of R code and other programming languages would be beneficial

• Comfortable working onsite when necessary

• Understanding of and ability to adhere to software specifications
