Robert Half Staff Accountant AP in Reading, Pennsylvania

Description We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Reading, Pennsylvania, United States. This role primarily focuses on handling accounts payable and general ledger tasks within our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Processing vendor invoices in our ERP system, JD Edwards

• Ensuring invoices have proper approval before processing

• Identifying and validating discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices

• Analyzing, preparing, and processing payments accurately and on time

• Reconciling vendor statements against vendor open items

• Reviewing and assigning correct GL coding to invoices/check requests, and expense reports for proper entry into the accounting system

• Validating and updating vendor information as necessary

• Investigating and resolving internal and external inquiries concerning invoice and payment processing

• Managing department email to receive invoices and address AP inquiries

• Maintaining and organizing AP documentation, records, and files

• Assisting with period end closing and providing supporting documentation for audits

• Handling disputes resolution and preparing and performing check runs

• Posting transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records

• Reconciling accounts payable transactions and monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date. Requirements • Must possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) management

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger

• Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries accurately

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Proficient in handling Payable Invoices

• Experience with Weekly Account Payable processes

• Knowledge and experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on accurate analysis

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
