The Role

We are seeking a proactive, creative and inspirational leader to drive growth through Commercial Sales in UK and Ireland; directly managing team members and reporting directly to the Senior Director for Commercial Sales.

The current team of inside sales professionals are responsible for net new business growth in the Small and Mid-Enterprise sectors throughout UKI, and we are looking for a dynamic leader to manage and motivate the existing team; This person will be responsible for driving net new revenue growth, working closely with channel partners and business development teams to build and close pipeline.

When required, this leader will provide executive customer facing support, driving deals alongside the team and will be experienced in mobilizing channel partners to accelerate scale and growth.

Your day-to-day

  • Leading the whole UK & I Commercial Sales team, and working collaboratively with other UKI aligned business areas and leaders to drive growth and increase success.

  • Create and develop a joined up and targeted UK Commercial strategy.

  • Lead and motivate a team of New Business Account Managers to drive revenue growth through a positive, high-touch, channel engaged, customer experience

  • Be an active member of the EMEA Commercial Leadership Team.

  • Connect Account Managers to key resources and clear roadblocks, enabling them to achieve and/or exceed their revenue goals

  • Work with stakeholders in region and in EMEA to align business and drive towards greater mutual growth.

  • Developing sales strategies to penetrate new accounts, particularly accounts up to 2500 user accounts

  • Maintain a positive culture that inspires performance and achievement

  • Instill and maintain a quality and integrity-based sales process with respect to customer interactions

  • Actively engage, attract and secure top talent

  • Provide training and ongoing coaching and development to Account Managers, as well as performance management

  • Develop and execute a thorough business plan, including planning for both current and future quarter success

  • Prepare and present team forecast to executive management

  • Maintain internal partnerships with various business units including Sales Engineering and Marketing

  • Become a perpetual student of Proofpoint products, and the ever-changing Cyber Security industry

What you bring to the team

  • Direct experience of leading high performing inside sales or field sales teams

  • Must have prior quota carrying sales experience, preferably in security or IT related technology

  • Strong leadership experience, with a focus on training, coaching and motivation

  • Expert knowledge of the full sales cycle, from prospecting, cold calling through to negotiation and closing

  • Experience in solution sales environment, and ideally training/experience in a specific sales methodology such as Customer Centric Selling, the Challenger Sale, SPIN, MEDDPICC.

  • Experience of driving business through a Two-tier channel model

  • Ability to function in “Player/Coach” role and assist account executives closing deals

  • Ability to provide situational coaching and advice and help guide deals to closure

  • Background selling Security or SaaS products is a plus

  • Technical aptitude, and ability to learn new concepts quickly

  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM is desirable

  • Fluent English both written and verbal. Additional language also desirable.
