Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC Engineer III in Raymond, Ohio

Manage the development of exterior light components and electrical control systems, which includes forward and rear lighting systems, auto light sensors, auto high-beam sensors, and various vision controls. Plan and propose the system construction, develop specifications, and test and analyze parts by performing actual vehicle test and bench testing. Manage the development of exterior lighting components and control systems including planning and proposing the system construction developing specifications and testing and analyzing parts by performing actual vehicle test and bench testing. Manage the development of vision control systems, including planning and proposing the system construction developing specifications and testing and analyzing parts by performing actual vehicle test and bench testing. Manage the development of wiper control systems, including the motor and auto wiper sensor, as well as the development of the vision system including the exterior and interior mirror auto-dimming control. Regularly perform analysis on each system by performing research, attending auto-shows, technical conferences, and/or performing actual vehicle evaluations. Monitor market quality through the regular analysis of JD Powers' initial quality survey results, and take measures to improve the systems. Ensure the security of the design by performing cyber security analysis and functional safety activities throughout each development milestone. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering; 4 years of experience breaking down project concept details into required development activities; 4 years of experience correlating technical project details with key stakeholders and negotiating the schedule for deliverables; 2 years of experience mentoring and leading other engineers on best practices; 4 years of experience performing engineering troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and solution design; 4 years of experience identifying shortcomings and suggesting improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures in order to increase efficiency and other key metrics; 4 years of experience working with suppliers to coordinate requirements, schedule activities, and address issues in a timely manner; and 4 years of experience in project management and coordination of activities in a deadline- oriented engineering environment together with other members of similar experience and authority.  Telecommuting optional -- May work from any location in Ohio.
