Robert Half Payroll Clerk in Rancho Cucamonga, California

Description We are on the lookout for an experienced Payroll Clerk to join our team in the public works services industry, located in Rancho Cucamonga, California. This role involves managing payroll processes, maintaining employee records, and providing support for various human resources functions. Responsibilities:

• Accurately process weekly payroll using payroll software. • Verify and reconcile payroll data, including employee hours and bonuses. • Address employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits in a timely and detail oriented manner. • Assist in onboarding and offboarding processes, which includes preparing employment contracts. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases. • Assist in administering employee benefits programs and updating policies as needed. • Support HR initiatives such as performance management, employee engagement programs, and training sessions. • Stay informed about changes in payroll and labor laws to ensure compliance. • Use accounting software systems and timekeeping systems like IBM AS/400 and Kronos Timekeeping System. • Process bi-weekly payroll for a large number of employees and handle payroll garnishments. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Telecom Services industry.

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with IBM AS/400 system.

• Familiarity with Kronos Timekeeping System and About Time software.

• Understanding of Benefit Functions related to payroll.

• Certified Payroll detail oriented (CPP) certification is a plus.

• Experience in handling payroll for 101-500 employees.

• Knowledge of payroll garnishments and union payroll procedures.

• Ability to process bi-weekly payroll effectively and accurately.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
