Job Title: Field Technician

Job Description

This position requires 80% travel, potentially to different countries, so a valid passport is necessary. The candidate must be comfortable with being away for over a week at a time. The primary function of this role is board-level repair of electronic Surface Mount Devices on LED lights. Responsibilities include de-soldering and resoldering LEDs without damaging the PCB traces, assembling controller boxes for LED panels, reading schematics, troubleshooting, and testing each box to ensure proper function before shipment. Good hand-eye coordination is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform board-level repair of electronic Surface Mount Devices on LED lights.

• De-solder and resolder LEDs without damaging PCB traces.

• Assemble controller boxes for LED panels based on schematics.

• Troubleshoot and ensure each box is running properly.

• Test each box on a test wall to ensure there are no issues before shipment.

Essential Skills

• Experience in soldering and desoldering electronic components.

• Proficiency with Surface Mount Devices (SMD).

• Strong understanding of electronics and electrical wiring.

• Ability to read and understand schematics.

• Excellent hand-eye coordination.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.

• Technical degree is a plus but not mandatory.

Work Environment

The candidate will work outside with the project manager and three general laborers. The dress code is relaxed, including jeans and boots, with a recommendation to dress warmly if weather conditions require it. Typical working hours are from 8-10 PM to 6-7 AM, with travel both internationally (for a couple of weeks at a time) and within the states (Monday to Friday, 8-hour days). Destinations include Canada, Mexico, Europe, Singapore, and Dubai. Candidates do not need to speak other languages but should be comfortable using translation tools.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
