Actalent Data Scientist in Raleigh, North Carolina

DATA SCIENTIST OPENING:

As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for designing, creating, and managing an organization's data architecture. This includes developing data models, defining data integration and migration strategies, and ensuring data integrity, security, and availability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, develop data models, and oversee data integration efforts. You will also work with various stakeholders, such as business analysts, database administrators, and software developers, to understand their data requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. You will also need to establish data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality and consistency across the organization. Your role will be instrumental in shaping our data strategy and ensuring that our data assets are leveraged effectively to drive business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into data architecture solutions.

  • Design and implement data models, data flows, and data storage solutions that meet business needs.

  • Develop and maintain data architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices.

  • Lead data governance efforts to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

  • Evaluate and select data management tools and technologies to support the data architecture.

  • Monitor and optimize data systems for performance and scalability.

  • Should be able to write code to do POCs with different tools

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing concepts.

  • Familiarity in docker and Python

  • Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).

  • Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.

    • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional) a plus
