Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our non-profit organization in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role entails performing critical accounting functions and managing the accounts payable process. The position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Perform bank reconciliations for self-funded medical insurance bank account.

• Prepare accurate and timely account reconciliation of monthly inter-office settlement; provide necessary documentation to substantiate reconciliations.

• Record all self-funded medical insurance receipts and withdrawals.

• Maintain accounts payable by managing AP email inbox, entering invoices into accounting system based on allocation to cost centers and accounts.

• Obtain and verify approval of all requested payments; generate payments and submit ACH payments in the banking system on a weekly basis.

• Post accounts payable data in accounting software.

• Organize and maintain AP vendor files and associated documentation.

• Reconcile monthly corporate credit statements and record transactions in accounting system monthly.

• Use Sage Intacct for various accounting functions.

• Maintain vendor files and perform monthly bank reconciliations. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures

• Proficiency in using Sage Intacct software

• Experience in maintaining vendor files

• Proficiency in bank reconciliations

• Experience in conducting monthly bank reconciliation

• Background in the non-profit sector preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Knowledge of regulations and guidelines related to accounts payable.
