COASTAL FEDERAL C.U. Account Representative Sr. in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Title:Account Representative

Position Location:Raleigh, NC. Hybrid Position, must live locally.

Your impact:

As a Sr. Account Representative, you will support the financial management and operations of the Credit Union by resolving member issues/requests by various methods such as phone, email, mail etc. for maintenance and processing of transactions to shares, general ledgers, and loans. You'll also use your strong interpersonal skills to aid/support other departments through file maintenance, corrections and share adjustments. Occasionally assisting with training of new staff.

As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:

(50%) Wire Processing within limits of wire policy

  • Processing Outgoing Domestic and International wires via phone accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify member authorizations for wire transfer activities.
  • Processing incoming wires
  • Researching and resolving any complex issues with processing wires pertaining to fraud or returning wires

(20%) IRA Processing

  • Handle transfers, distributions, rollovers, conversions, death claims, and closures in accordance with government regulations and policies
  • Performing IRA/HSA transaction validation for Account Reps
  • Performing monthly audit to IRA reports for Retail Transactions
  • Reviewing all related tax forms for accuracy and compliance
  • Staying up to date on any IRS regulatory changes or limits

(20%) Account Maintenance

  • Utilizing multiple systems simultaneously as you research and resolve complex member issues
  • Analyzing, understanding and recalculating dividends on share accounts
  • Processing PTM Corrections and ATM adjustments to ensure accurate member transactions
  • Accurately processing high-volume transactions
  • Researching and resolving member/account issues or concerns efficiently and effectively
  • Researching and responding to member inquiries concerning account tax/statements/check copies through messaging, phone or email
  • Responding to mail requests as well as member and employee inquiries
  • Reviewing/processing electronic message requests
  • Processing VOD, change of address, Deluxe check orders and Medicaid/SSN requests
  • Researching and responding to related requests such as Court Orders, Subpoenas, Writs, garnishments and levies

(10%) System Release/Process Improvement Enhancements

  • Participation/performing testing for System Releases/Process improvement
  • Assisting with Training team or providing updates for System Release/Process improvement
  • Assisting with procedure updates for System Release/Process improvement

Required experience:

  • Three years of call center account processing experience in a financial institution
  • IRA transaction experience
  • Data entry experience
  • Wire processing experience preferred

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
