Merck Business Analyst/Project Lead - Content Management (Hybrid - NJ or PA) in Rahway, New Jersey

Under the direction of the Enterprise Content Management product manager, the incumbent is responsible for engineering enterprise products in the regulated content management area. The employee is responsible for developing, delivering, and architecting our regulated content management offering within the IT organization. The role is accountable for designing, building, and enhancing this solution in collaboration with the product manager, as well as delivery. This role works with internal architects, engineers, and business users to understand the business outcomes required of the product offering and with architects, technology thought leaders and external service providers to understand the current and future underlying technologies available in the regulated content management space. The incumbent will be part of a team of resources across all three hubs (US, Prague, and Singapore) and could identify the biggest opportunities as well as tackle the biggest challenges at the intersection of healthcare, information and technology. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to listen to customer content management needs and translate requirements into IT solutions.

  • Follow the company's Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and change management processes throughout implementations.

  • Help define best practices and guidelines for content management usage at our Company, acting as a subject matter expert for interactions with customers and other IT functions.

  • Identify capability gaps in Corporate Content Management capabilities and design solutions to address those gaps.

  • Maintain and contribute to Content Management roadmaps, future state capabilities, and strategic planning for application expansion.

  • Keep abreast of new technologies, work processes, industry practices, and standards.

  • Interact with business users, solution/software providers, and IT colleagues to brainstorm and implement solutions.

  • Drive solution governance across Content Management infrastructure.

  • Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with company policies and standards and regional and country-specific regulations.

  • Experience with migrations, DIA models

  • Experience working on large complex IT projects that help deliver IT solutions supporting complex business efforts in the pharma industry

  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to map business processes, identify requirements and their priorities, assess the impact on business processes, and identify gaps in IT systems.

  • Help drive change management and adoption from the diverse business community

  • Senior-level experience as a business analyst with excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in Regulated Content Management products with preferred experience in OpenText Documentum LSQM

  • Experience implementing complex retention-based systems

  • Advanced experience in various migration projects

  • Ability to review SIT scenarios to ensure the proposed SIT scripts encompass all business requirements

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years or equivalent with large-scale validated scientific computer systems.

  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering and solution delivery with GxP systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and define business problems and identify appropriate technology solution(s).

  • Strong teamwork and partnership skills.

  • Drive for results augmented by strong planning and organization skills.

  • Deliver customer value - dedicated to understanding and meeting customer needs.

  • Partners effectively with and through others to achieve common goals.

  • Business analysis (with preferred CCBA or equivalent business analyst certifications) with experience in requirements analysis, stakeholder management, and functional testing.

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of pharma CSV and SDLC processes

  • Preferred knowledge of quality and manufacturing content management processes

  • OpenText Documentum experience, particularly within Enterprise Content Management capabilities, including an understanding of thresholds and limitations.

  • Must have experience in developing Business Analysis and SDLC Deliverables in regulated content management projects

  • System Engineering Projects - system requirement specifications, use cases, SIT and UAT support, RTM

  • Ability to work independently and as per the directions from the Lead Business Analyst

  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills

  • Knowledge of system development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and related documentation in a regulated environment

  • Experience with various software development techniques (e.g., traditional waterfall, lean, agile)

  • Experience working in a multicultural, global, and complex environment

  • Experience with working in a matrixed organization and associated stakeholder management

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Experience with migrations and a good understanding of migration tools and methodologies.

  • Experience in Regulated Content Management products with preferred experience in (OpenText Documentum LSQM, Veeva, or similar products).

  • Good understanding of records management and implementation.

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate technical and non-technical information verbally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of professionals globally.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple competing projects and needs.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Expected salary range:

$111,400.00 - $175,300.00
