The Role at a Glance

As the VP of Finance , you will provide strategic leadership to achieve key business objectives for the Retirement Plan Services (RPS) business line. You will lead and oversee the overall analysis of financial information for the RPS business and ensure that it is delivered in a clear, concise and actionable way that provides factual data/information for decision support. You will also develop the overall Financial Analysis departmental strategy and provide highly specialized expertise to senior stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

  • Develops and oversees the comprehensive analysis and reporting of financial information to support and drive strategic executive decision making

  • Ensures the finance functional areas are meeting all objectives pertaining to quality, productivity, customer service, budget and project management

  • Analyzes complex financial information and provides strategic insights to key senior executive stakeholders

  • Develops and ensures RPS operational plans are aligned with Workplace Solutions (WPS)/Lincoln Financial Group’s (LFG) overall business plans and specific strategic and tactical initiatives

  • Contributes to the strategy development for highly complex financial trends, issues and/or concerns for RPS

  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs as they seek solutions for a full range of business challenges; ensuring that these executives are provided with strategically optimal financial impacts to the enterprise

  • Oversees effective internal control of all RPS operations to ensure an accurate reporting of its financial position

  • Leads and oversees departmental and/or enterprise wide projects to ensure senior stakeholders have actionable and valuable financial information which enables decision-making that results in successful outcomes

  • Ensures the preparation of reports which summarize and forecast RPS business activities and financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations

  • Ensures the preparation and communicates RPS’s financial performance to WPS and LFG’s leadership team, LFG’s Board of Directors, Regulators, Rating Agencies, Investors/Analysts, LFG Customers/Intermediaries, and the employees of the RPS line of business

  • Ensures that risks, exposure and key business issues are identified, properly analyzed and resolved

  • Develops and implements the overall financial analysis policies and procedures

  • Ensures the compiling and analyzing of key performance indicators and metrics for RPS

  • Develops and manages the overall departmental budget

  • Guides and evaluates departmental performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards

What we’re looking for

Must-haves:

  • 12+ Years experience in financial analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position

  • 5+ years of management, strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)

  • Guides and evaluates departmental performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards

  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations

  • Advocates effectively, readily command attention and respect in groups as demonstrated by people listening to and getting on board with initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully hire, retain, develop and coach staff via a culture of real-time performance feedback, with ability to build both technical and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior/executive management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches

Nice-to-haves:

  • Retirement plan finance/operations experience

The pay range for this position is $174,000 - $315,000 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
